Every four years since 1997, the US National Intelligence Council publishes Global Trends, a study that tries to chart the future of the United States and the world. And since the latest one came out in 2021, they are updating their report this year, which we are excited to see, as we have covered it several times here on Külpologika. And now it’s even more exciting to look ahead. Old enemies have become friends, old friends have become enemies, yesterday’s handshake has become an angry emoji, and the values that were proclaimed eternal have become a stupid joke at the end of the trial, because today a new world is being built in the place of the old.

So there are predictions and forecasts aplenty, but we would like to hear yours. Anyone who is in the mood to embark on a great adventure and write a prediction about our world, about what and how it will change in the next 5-10-20 years, we would be very interested to hear from you.

The best essays and analyses would not only be rewarded but also published on the site. Under a name or pseudonym, whichever you prefer.

So if you’re doing this at university, or you’ve just read two interesting forward-looking books and have an opinion on them, or would like to think about them further, let us know. If you’re only interested in one area, that’s fine. You don’t have to draw the boundaries of the new world for everyone, if you can only predict the biggest innovations, that helps us and you.

There are no formal or length restrictions, and you can write your analysis in Hungarian or even in English.

Then in 10-20 years we will take your predictions again, just like the BBC. They did a prediction round in 1995 with Stephen Hawking among others. What do you think they predicted for 2025?
